Church life

Overview

King's Church services take place each weekend in various locations. There are Sunday morning meetings held in Windsor and Reading at 10.30am. There is also a Saturday morning Kidz Klub held in Slough during term time.

During Sunday services there is a full program for children aged 3-11 and youth aged 11-16. There is also a fully staffed crèche for babies and toddlers.

Cell groups

As well as weekend meetings, there is the opportunity to be part of a small group which meets during the week. These groups are called 'cell groups' and are the life and heart of the church. In a cell group meeting members get to know each other better, learn from the Bible, develop in faith and character, and pray. Each cell group consists of 3-12 people and is led by a church member who has been trained on our School of Leaders. The meetings last for about an hour and take place at various times and in various locations across the Thames Valley.

Children

There are several activities for children running throughout the week. We also organise special events such as our annual children's camp.

Every Saturday morning during term time we run our exciting Kidz Klub for children aged 5-11. The programme is action-packed with messy games, competitions, music, stories and comedy. Kidz Klub is a safe and fun place for children to hear spiritual and moral truths that will provide a sound foundation for their lives.

Kidz Church, for children aged 3-11, takes place every Sunday morning in Windsor and Reading. This is a lively time of games, children's praise and worship, arts and craft, prayer, Bible Stories, and age-relevant teaching to help children meet with God.

There are also special cell groups for children aged 8 and older. These are led by children's workers who have been trained on our School of Leaders. The cell groups meet each week for about an hour at various locations across the Thames Valley.

Our annual Kidz Camp is held in July and is packed with fun activities, sports, arts & crafts, praise & worship, Bible stories, and small group time.

Youth

There are many varied activities on offer for young people in school years 7-12 (aged 11 to 17).

On a Sunday morning there is a special programme for youth. This is a time for young people to hear Biblical truths, discuss important issues, pray and hang out with others of the same age.

Every summer we hold several different youth camps. To find out more about this year's camps, click here.

We also organise special youth events such as concerts, social events, conferences, courses, and days out.

18's - 30's

For those in the 18's - 30's age bracket we organise a monthly Meeting Point. This is the perfect opportunity to meet up, relax and socialise with others of the same age across the Thames Valley area. Events include summer BBQs, days out and social evenings.

We also hold a summer camp exclusively for this age range in August each year. To find out more about this year's camp click here.

Senior citizens

For those aged 60 and over we host Primetime, monthly meetings open to all which provide an ideal opportunity to get to know other like-minded people of a similar age.

We organise various outings during the year such as riverboat trips and trips to the seaside and other places of interest.

There is also the opportunity to meet with a smaller group of people on a weekly basis to talk, pray and learn from the Bible.

Family

Family is very important to God, church and society and at King's Church International we endeavour to help people build strong marriages and families.

As well as marriage preparation courses, we run weekends away for married couples and families. We also offer training in how to build marriages and families based on biblical principles as part of our leadership training school. Furthermore we provide support and care to couples and families who are going through difficult times.

Encounter

Encounter weekends are hosted throughout the year. They provide an opportunity for individuals to have an encounter with Jesus Christ - the most important and life changing experience a person can have. The weekend is about coming to know the Father heart of God, repentance, receiving healing from past hurts, experiencing the Holy Spirit and understanding God's plan for your life.

The weekend is preceded by a four session preparation course and is followed up with an eight session course, including topics such as worship, the Bible, baptism and prayer. For upcoming Encounter dates, click here

School of Leaders

School of Leaders aims to train up all committed members for effective ministry. The school runs throughout the year with three levels. Each level involves eight weeks of two hour sessions. Level one aims to establish students in the foundations of the Christian faith. Level two deals with the development of effective disciples and cell ministry. Level three focuses on keys to leadership development. For School of Leaders dates please check the church diary.

Alpha

The Alpha course is an 8 week introduction to Christianity.

This 8 week course is the perfect opportunity to explore, discuss the meaning of life. It's relaxed, low key, friendly and fun. Each course is launched with a dinner party; an evening of good food, good company and entertainment including a short talk from an excellent after-dinner speaker.

We run Alpha Courses at various locations across the Thames Valley several times a year.

The Alpha Course

Worship and creative arts

The church worship team is made up of gifted musicians, singers and song-writers. Together they lead praise and worship during our Sunday morning meetings and at other meetings and events. They have also been involved in national conferences.

Community

King's Church International is involved in a number of community initiatives.

We have accommodated more than 500 homeless families in Windsor following the launch of an imaginative housing project at King's House in 1991. King's House has recently been renovated and aims to support individuals in their development by providing quality and affordable accommodation.

Overseas, we helped to rebuild houses in Sri Lanka, following the tsunami and are working with Habitat for Humanity South Africa to provide affordable housing. In Burkina Faso, West Africa we support the education of 600 children and provide assistance for various development projects, such as well-digging projects and farming initiatives. We have also been able to provide assistance for Pakistan, following the South Asia earthquake and to Peru following the earthquake near Lima.
