History
The church was founded in 1943 by WTH 'Billy' Richards, a former coal miner from South Wales. He felt God tell him to start a church in Slough, a town he had never visited and knew nothing about. The first church service was held in a run-down Scout hut with five people (originally known as The Gospel Tabernacle).
Leadership
The church is led by Senior Pastor Wes Richards, a former journalist, who joined the staff in 1975 and became the Senior Pastor in 1978. He has continued to build upon the solid foundation laid by the founder, his father. Today he is supported by a strong leadership team of twelve men and twelve women.

The church is multi-ethnic and multi-cultural comprising people of all ages and many different backgrounds and professions. All continents of the world are represented in the church membership. More than 25 countries are represented including: South Africa, Spain, France, Belgium, Poland, Costa Rica, Colombia, Nigeria, Japan, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Morocco, West Indies, Jamaica, India and Pakistan. In recent years, we have helped to rebuild houses in Sri Lanka following the tsunami, and were able to provide assistance for Pakistan following the South Asia earthquake and to Peru following the earthquake near Lima.
