As a church, 2017 was an incredible year. Pastors Wes and Adriana want to carry that momentum right through into 2018 and beyond. At Vision Night 2018, Pastor Wes shared the Word for us at the start of this year. You can listen via the podcasts page or the KCI Mobile App.

Sing, barren woman, you who never bore a child; burst into song, shout for joy, you who were never in labor; because more are the children of the desolate woman than of her who has a husband,” says the Lord."
Isaiah 54:1-3

1. Sing Again

2018 is the time to celebrate a new season of God’s grace

“Sing, barren woman, you who never bore a child; burst into song, shout for joy..."

This year there is going to be a lot more rejoicing in the church. We are going to focus on both ministering to Christians (so that they have a grace awakening and get rid of all bitterness of spirit) and preaching and sharing the gospel of salvation and hope to all we can find. This is no time to try and be sophisticated, impressive, or proud. It's time to go to people who need saving from sin and speak direct and anointed words of hope. We all need to have the hearts of true shepherds looking to rescue lost sheep and bind up their wounds.

2. Stretch Out, Spread Out

2018 is the time to mobilise in faith for expansion and growth

"Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords…"

The picture here is of a Bedouin tent, which could be enlarged with extra skins being incorporated and longer cords being added. We must be ready to stretch out in faith and witness. Many people are depressed, confused, empty and lost. Men, women and the young can all be shell-shocked by their experiences in life. This is a year for us to stretch out and spread out as never before and not hold back or hesitate in any way.

3. Strengthen the Foundations

2018 is the time to build strong foundations

"do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes."

Every area of the church needs to be strengthened. We need to strengthen many teams and constantly develop organisation and systems, but in 2018 we want to focus on developing and strengthening the church's foundations.

  • Consecration
More devotion to God, more reading of God’s Word, more prayer, more purity in life and motive, more positive speech. The anointing of the Holy Spirit will flow when we live by the Spirit.

  • Leadership
Those who have been faithful with 5 talents and 2 talents will be given more opportunity and responsibility. Leadership development both here and in Robertson is a major focus of Pastors Wes & Adriana.

  • Finances
There is much to be thankful for about the giving in the church but it is necessary that we conquer debt and all financial goals and challenges, both individually and collectively. God has all the money we need and some of it has been entrusted to individuals and families in this church.

To achieve what God has in store for us requires all of us investing money, heart, time, and action; wholeheartedly, consistently, and with faith.

God is with us and as we stay close to Him and one another, we will see great acceleration.

So start singing, stretch out beyond your comfort zones and strengthen everything that needs strengthening.
