Church Celebrates Birthday Of Senior Pastor
During the Sunday morning services, greetings from pastors around the world were given via video.
Pastors Lennart and Carolina Torebring from Stockholm said how proud they were of Pastor Wes when he address the President of Colombia at the G12 conference in 2008. Pastor Terry Page from California said how much he loved Pastor Wes, his family and the church.
Pastors Marin and Atena Bloj brought greetings from Romania, saying how much Pastor Wes has meant to them.
Pastor Cesar spoke from Isaiah 60 and said that Pastor Wes was ‘like one of the two faithful servants who returned from the promised land.'
Wesley, James and Melody, Pastor Wes' three children, preached on what it means to live life ‘Walking with God.' They said they had seen this modelled to them by their Dad, citing examples from their childhood.
Following the two morning services, the church was invited to a surprise birthday lunch for Pastor Wes at Baylis House. More than 400 people enjoyed an afternoon of Indian Food and birthday celebrations which included a bouncy castle for the children
At the lunch, Pastor Wes was presented with a gift from members of the church - a trip to Israel. Despite a life time of travelling all around the world, he has never visited the Holy Land. He departs on Sunday 20th June for a five day tour.
